RICE PAPER

Rice paper is a traditional food product in southern China and Vietnam. The edible "paper" is made of pulp made of soggy rice grains, spread on a fabric placed over a container with steaming water. When the cake is cut, it is dried in the sun on a bamboo mat. Rice paper is used especially for making traditional spring rolls, called spring rolls. Sometimes it is cut into strips, resulting in flat rice noodles.
